Epson Stylus DX7000F - scanner

by Nymeria <Ms.Nymeria@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jan 20, 2008 at 11:44 AM

Hello,

I switched to Mac only recently (less than two weeks) and I'm still very
much at a loss with my multi-function printer: instead of using the CD
interface software, I downloaded from here http://snipurl.com/1xu8n
the
driver 6.10 (a general driver, I presume) and the print driver 3.6a and
everything works fine; unfortunately the driver for the scanner (2.9p)
aborts the download at 1 or 2 seconds from the finish, and is therefore
unusable.

At this point I thought I might use the driver on the CD, since the scan
driver on the site is not as up to date as the other two, but I am afraid

to create problems with the existing installed drivers which have placed
two icons in my Applications folder, named Epson printer utility n. 2 and

3.

Can you suggest the best course of action to follow ?
I was thinking of uninstalling the installed drivers (simply removing the

icons in the trash bin ? or should I use another method ?), use the
installation CD and then re-install the two up-to-date drivers; I just
need to be sure this is the correct procedure - my computer literacy is
quite low, and I am afraid of doing something wrong: the Mac universe is
still a "strange new world" to me ..

Thank you for your help !
