HP 2575 and Pages

by Mike <bm_biker_spam@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Nov 20, 2007 at 11:30 AM

I hope this is not old=hat; I downloaded the last 300 posts without
finding anything.

When I print from Pages to my HP2575, I get very faint, patchy results
that appear like those from printing with an empty black cartridge (it
is not). Lines barely visible, others with horizonttal banding and
others missing entirely. Also, the page length of a single A$ do***ent
appears to be ignored, with one or two lines of text only a page and the
rest of the page on a second sheet, all patchy as mentioned above.

If I save the pages output as a PDF do***ent and print this from
Preview, everything is as it should be - all experiments with font,
size, position, colour, emphasis and so on in their accurate places. The
same applies to prints from a networked Linux box with its own drivers.
It is a do***ent I want, not just playing with those effects.

Is there a known problem with Leopard, Pages and HP all-in-one printers?
It used to work fine, afaik, under Tiger. I did a simple update.

I am using the HP All-in-One 4.0.1 driver, it appears (I installed the
printer alternatively using the ethernet connection, rather than the USB
one that was always there anyway and this gave me the driver info). No
change with the alternate connection method; still patchy.
