Printing to a HP LaserJet 3505 from OS 9

by fergus@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (Fergus McMenemie) Nov 8, 2007 at 06:27 AM

I have a HP LaserJet 3505dn color printer which I need for a mixed Apple
"os 9", "os x" environment. The cp3505dn do***entation says that Apple
Classic OS is sup****ted. However although the printer does work its
handling of duplex, envelopes and other features is not ideal. I guess
that either HP never really sup****ted this printer or that sup****t has
recently been dropped.

Is there a PPD file for this printer for OS 9.2.X or colorsync sup****t?

Failing any genuine sup****t, are there any other similar PPDs I could
use which will sup****t this printer better than the Apple laserwriter 8
generic driver. I tried to take the 3505 PPD from an OS x system and use
it on os 9 but this did not appear to work. Can it be done? What are the
ticks? I also found out that Linux had a PPD for the 3505 for use with
CUPS. Can I use this with OS 9?
