Actually, I just took a look at HP's web site, and they do apparently 
have a Mac OS X version of the utility:

Have you tried installing that?

BTW, you *can* run the classic Mac OS and applications on a MacBook Pro.  
I run them on mine. You just need to set up SheepShaver:
