Intel iMac and HP Deskjet 640c

by Alan <kipper_fillet@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Oct 14, 2007 at 01:51 PM

I have one of the Intel iMacs - latest OS, etc. (10.4). I've recently
been given a slightly aged HP Deskjet 640c printer which I've
connected to the Mac via USB. The printer "works" in that it spits
out test pages etc. no problem, but any job I send to the printer from
the Mac fails to print. I've installed the relevant HP software
(downloaded from their site a few days ago) but it doesn't seem to
work - the "Deskjet 640c" application opens, but just shows "Jobs
Stopped" and stubbornly refuses to print.

Is there a solution to this problem? Or should I go to my nearest
retailer and buy a more modern printer?

Thanks,

AS.
