Older MacBook random shutdowns

by Matt Stith <seventoes@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 17, 2008 at 04:55 PM

Hello, i have an older MacBook (relativly, its from right after the
switch to Intel.) With a 1.83HGz Intel Core Duo processor, running
Leopard (10.5), and a problem started occuring recently. Whenever the
laptop isnt pluggin into a power outlet, just running off its own
battery, it seems to be able to only run for 5 to 10 minutes before it
just randomly cuts power and shuts down. Ive been told its something
about the heat sync and a wire that isnt in use when the laptop is
plugged in..

anyone have any experience with this, or know how to fix without having
to drive 100 miles to the apple store, or, preferebly, without having
to pay at all?
