Geez ... I'm not telling you to use image smoothing - I'm just saying it's
supposed to be used for zoomed images.

My MacBook Pro 17 (late 2008) seems to get just a tad warmer than my
Powerbook 17@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
used to - not bad at all.

According to all the reviews I've read, the older C2Ds had much worse heat
problems.

I believe that anti-aliasing is used to smooth the outline of small font
sizes and help avoid pixelation by blurring the outline of the character.
At higher dot densities, that blurring is probably less noticeable.
