MacBook Pro and Linksys 'n' router

by Robert Peirce <bob@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 14, 2008 at 04:23 PM

There is something wrong with the air****t connection between these two
devices. I know it is between these two because my wife's PB works
fine. The MBP loses the connection and the only sure way to
re-establish it is to restart the MBP. Sometimes restarting the router
will work for a while, but in the end, I have to restart the MBP. At
somebody's suggestion I created an off-line "location" in order to reset
Air****t, but that does not work any better than "Turn Air****t Off."
Neither will re-establish the connection.

I am running 10.4.11 with the 2007-009 Security Update and the 2007-004
Air****t Extreme Update installed. All other updates are for various apps
and not likely to be a factor. The 2008-001 Security Update is
available but not installed. Other than that I am up-to-date.

The PB does not use 'n', so the router on 'n' could be the problem.
However, I think if that were the case, restarting the router would
always solve the problem an it does not. Restarting the MBP does solve
the problem.

Is this a known issue? Has anybody else encountered it? Does anybody
have a suggested solution?
