10.5.2 server/lpr/PS files

by Robert Peirce <bob@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 8, 2008 at 12:38 PM

This may be a general problem but I encountered it on a server.

On Uwin, an AT&T implementation that runs on Windows, using LPR to send
a PS file to a PostScript printer will print it correctly. In 10.5.2
server, lpr just prints a blank page for the same file on the same
printer. I don't think this should happen but I don't know what to do
about it. The file header is:

%!PS-Adobe-2.0
%Creator: atp v1.2 - February 1, 1995
%%CreationDate: Tue May  6 15:23:33 2008
%%Orientation: ****trait
%%Pages: (atend)
%%PageOrder: Ascend
%%Title: r_80/groups
%%Do***entFonts: Courier Courier-Italic Courier-Bold Helvetica-Bold
%%EndComments

Is there anything unique to OS X or 10.5.2 that might cause this? Is
there a solution or a work-around? We can open the file and print it
but we are trying to print from a script.
