iTunes playing up

by Stewy <anyone4tennis@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > May 7, 2008 at 11:08 PM

Hello all
Any suggestion to solve the problem below would be greatly appreciated.

I'm using iTunes 7.6.2 and my default library is in the Users folder. I
changed this a few years ago as the library was taking up too much space
- I 'only' have a 60gb HDD and so changed the itunes folder to an
external Lacie drive. However, iTunes periodically ignores this and
switches back to the internal drive folder.

If I deleted the Music folder within Users, would that help keep iTunes
in check?

How can I make the external iTunes folder the default?

Every time the switch takes place and I switch it back, iTunes wants to
update the library then make sure everything is organized meaning I
can't use the Mac for anything while it does this. (I usually stop both
actions)

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

(am running 10.4.11 on an 800mhz G4)
