First Conference: 30th April 2005 (see website for local times)
We are pleased to be able to announce the line-up for the first Revolution
online scripting conference. The conference is free and open to all users
of Revolution, even if they are yet to purchase a licence. Revolution is
an award winning multi-platform development tool.
The first conference covers stack structure and will be hosted by Kevin
Miller, CEO of Runtime Revolution with xtalk expert Jacqueline Landman Gay
of Hyperactive Software acting as the conference moderator. The conference
is ideal for new and experienced Revolution users. The conference will
provide an overview of Revolution including stack structure and will
explore the key aspects of the programming metaphor including:
- Objects
- Properties
- Script control
- Messages, including how they are initiated and the message path
- Stacks and substacks
- Demonstrations of how to use cards, groups and scripts
The conference is designed for users of all abilities and will feature a
moderated session which is designed to guide learners through the key
learning objectives. This will be followed by an open session which will
allow users to freely discuss any aspect of the conference.
A free stack which accompanies the first conference is now available for
download from the conference website. The stack is easy to use and
contains materials which guide the learner through the key objectives
including background information and demonstrations. The stack is provided
in source code form which makes it easy for learners to see just how easy
it is to create software using Revolution.
