Samsung 245BW on G5 with Radeon 9800 Pro

by Howard S Shubs <howard@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Oct 23, 2007 at 02:07 AM

I just got this tonight. I figured, I bought the optional higher end
video card, no problem driving this monitor.

Well.

At full rez (1920x1200@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
), I get a lot of flickering. At the next
one down (1600x1200@[EMAIL PROTECTED]
), I get much less flickering. The monitor is
connected via the digital cable. Is the flickering due to the video
card, or do I have a defective monitor?

Also, I'm coming from a Mitsubi**** 900u I bought in 1998 whose flyback
transformer is apparently on its way out. I'm very used to that
monitor. This new one doesn't appear to be as accurate with its colors.
Is that just par for the course?

While its true that "you can't fix stupid", apparently you
can package it up and sell it. -- fnorgby on TMBO
