Q: Mac G4 and Dell PC sharing a monitor through a data switch

I set up a Mac G4 (System 9.2) and a Dell Windows98 PC so that they can
share a
monitor (ViewSonic GS790) through a 2-****t HD15 (SVGA) data switch. The PC
boots
up and shows up on the monitor but the Mac doesn't. The Mac works fine
when it
is directly attached to the monitor. What am I doing wrong?
