TV card and external monitor on Macbook

I'd like to add a TV card and monitor to my Macbook for watching cable 
and mainly DVDs. My Macbook has the intel duo core / 2GB RAM purchased 
in 8/2006. I also need the monitor as a regular external computer 
monitor. I'm considering some of the widescreen options out there 
although I hear not to expect as good resolution or picture size for TV 
on a widescreen monitor. I've seen TV cards running on older PCs with 
very good results so I'm generally sold on the concept but I'd like to 
do it right. I'd love any references for references, or specific advice 
based on your experiences. Here's the TV card and monitor I'm considering:
