The fact remains that I (the original poster) was able to achieve exactly
the 
effects I wanted with a WYSIWIG site development program, in my case
Freeway 
4 Pro. The site performs correctly when viewed in Safari, Firefox, Camino,

and Opera, and has a minor glitch (a slight sideways jump when opening
some 
of the pages) when viewed in iCab. 

From the time I originally posted a link to my site at 
<www.homepage.mac.com/taliesinsoft/Adams/> I have made several changes in 
response to user feedback. At no time in the development and modification
of 
the site did I have to resort to using or even understanding the
underlying 
code.

The code for my site p***** W3C Strict validation with no errors.
