That seems like it ought to be a worthwhile niche to fill, too.
I've seen occasional publicity bits about, oh, call them non-bleeding
edge games being expected to catch on as a market Any Day Now, with the
intention being that they'd be satisfying to people who just want to
enjoy something that doesn't require 500 hours of tutorial before going
on to the main adventure.

But still ... pick, say, a 1 GHz, 16 MB video memory, arbitrarily
large hard drive. For 1996, that would have been an awesome game play
computer. That's still plenty of room for games to match, too.

One of the handful of benefits of this IBM laptop the department
loaned me is I can play what are clearly 'B movie' strategy games like
Trans****t Tycoon, where you're given the layout of a city and are left
in charge of the public trans****tation system. It's not sophisticated
-- you can't go spinning the game around in three dimensions and chat
with random passers-bye and such -- but it's a lot of fun. There should
be more room for games like that.

(Whatever did become of SimHarbour, anyway?)
