	Beats me, but that's the wrong platform and wrong game for me.  
At a guess, though, I'd try installing up the most new-fangled patches 
you can find and see what that does.  A double-click and freeze like 
that sure sounds like a ``some operating system upgrade grew a bug in 
our code and we have to patch it to matc'' kind of problem.
