I'm definitely not playing the game enough. I've let myself
(playing England; have annexed most of France; it's 1655) get suckered
into a war with Eire, Koln, Savoy, and Venice against Austria, Spain,
Cyprus, and Poland; and also with Eire, Koln, Savoy, Venice, and
Scotland against the Ottoman Empire, the Mughals, and Crimea.
There's just no good way out of this -- I didn't even start it,
just lived up to my alliance obligations -- but if I'm lucky I might be
able to glom up the centres of trade at Alexandria and Lombardy (which
was in perfect anarchy before the war) out of it. Those two I've got
in my possession now; if I really must fight Spain experience with an
earlier war suggests I might be able to get Barcelona and Andalusia,
maybe, if they won't invade through the Pyrennees too fast.
