You should apply all OS updates (via software update in apple menu) AND
you should update to the latest Sims II

Sims II update is particularly im****tant since it fixes a glitch
happened with latest update to Tiger. On the other hand, you should
keep up with OS X updates since The Sims II is an advanced OpenGL using
game.
So update both.
