Hi Everyone,
I recently bought the old MW2 Mac cd (from MegaMacs for $5), and
installed it with no trouble through Classic. The game started, and
moved through the intro movies and opening selection menus beautifully,
but... alas! When I went to start the first training mission, Classic
crashed, and I was stuck on a blank white screen.
I have a feeling that this is somehow caused by OS X not liking the way
MW2 loads its files, because after booting into OS 9.2.1, the game ran
fine, missions and all. So, I turned off virtual memory while I was in
OS9, and booted back to OSX, but got a similar Classic crash, only this
time it was a system bomb declaring, "address error."
So, I'm assuming it's something to do with the way memory is emulated
in Classic mode. Does anyone know of any configurations to Classic
that will enable MW2 to run?
I believe that the game was originally released for the 68000 Motorola
platform. It's strange that booting into OS9 with a G3 handles this
OK, but Classic won't...
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
