modem to modem game problems

Trying to play Ghost Recon with two players


I am in Massachusetts on a DSL and trying to play a 
person in Las vegas.
No luck connecting so far.

I am on a Mac them on a PC,.

Both versions 1.4


Both of these games are new.

They are putting my IP in the internet not LAN
and doing join game....
I waited a few w/ no connections

I did not have the game going I was at the 
screen were the ready button is waiting for their
name to appear

Both computers are set to
****t 2346 and no Firewalls are set up
on either computers.

I set the game up for 2 players

Anyone have any ideas?
