Did they ever fix the bugs with Skypecasts? I somewhat gave up on
them for that.
The Mac client had loads of problems and would not even attach right,
then hackers started to overtake Sykpecasts (all versions) and hack in
on administrative rights and would start closing casts down.
There was a lot of talk about it in their sup****t forums - which are
now very buried and hard to locate - and lots of "we're looking into
this," but never any fixes announced or any updates.
It appears that since eBay bought it all development has stopped.
The briader problem is that their connections are now starting to have
issues with some phone services.
For example, I have an 800 number with PIN. I can dial that via Skype
OK. However, whan I try to call an 800 calling card service which
bills ot my account, the 800 service does not answer and gives an odd
error message that it cannot connect and to try later.
On further examination I found the company ios blocking the IP block
from Skype because it does not dispatch appropriate Ip or "caller ID"
numbers. So without that identification you cannot connect.
Interestingly enough, you CAN connect with a personal 800 to your home.
If you cannot be ID'd th esystem rejects you.
Any conspiracy theorists interested in looking at whether this is a
government effort in the US to assure that all calls are traceable?
