You folks helped awhile back when I asked about software that I could use to edit sound files. Thanks for recommending Amadeus Pro. Now I'd like to know what sort of software I need to grab a video clip from, say, a movie or TV show that's on a DVD. I don't plan on violating any copyright laws. I only want to grab a bit of video to illustrate a point, like for a critique. That sort of thing. I'd also like to grab clips from different sources and put them together.
