That's only one of the links you provided, Edwin.
Read what this one says:
<http://www.gartner.com/it/page.jsp?id=648619>
"Gartner Says Worldwide PC Market Grew 12 Percent in First Quarter of
2008
U.S. Recession Had Minimal Disturbance on Global PC ****pments in the
Quarter
STAMFORD, Conn., April 16, 2008 ‹ Worldwide PC ****pments totaled 71.1
million units in the first quarter of 2008, a 12.3 percent increase from
the first quarter of 2007, according to preliminary results by Gartner,
Inc."
See that? Look carefully now (what am I saying? you always "read very
carefully", don't you? LOL):
" Worldwide PC ****pments totaled 71.1 million units in the first quarter
of 2008, a 12.3 percent increase from the first quarter of 2007"
First quarter 2008 compared to first quarter 2007.
See: they do this because sales of products fluctuate seasonally, so
that comparing a quarter to the immediately preceding quarter isn't very
useful.
