"Microsoft asked Europešs second-highest court to overturn or reduce a
record fine of 899 million euros ($1.4 billion) from the European Union."
and,
"...fined the company on Feb. 27 for failing to comply with a 2004
antitrust order. Under that decision, in which Microsoft was fined 497
million euros, the E.U. ordered the software maker to provide data to
rivals to allow servers to connect to the Windows platform."
( Well, either they did, or didn't. So things should be pretty clear to
the higher court!)
