When I try to install extensions from addon.mozilla.org, I get the
following error:
"Software installation is currently disabled. Click Edit
Options... to enable it and try again."
Sometimes selecting the 'Edit Options' button which appears on the web
page brings up the Preferences dialog, sometimes it doesn't.
When it does, I can see that I have the following settings:
no pop-ups are blocked,
no warnings about installing extensions or themes
javascript allowed
java allowed
But none of that let's me install an extension, and I get the same probelm
with any of the extensions. How can I work around this or fix it?
If I download the extensioni (as .xpi) manually, and then drag it to the
opened extension manager window, nothing happens.
Likewise, if I try to open the extension using the File->Open File menu
item, nothing happens.
How can I get Firefox to resume accepting extensions?
