US$1799 price quoted is free of local taxes. Add 10% to allow for 10%
GST added in Australia and you have US$1978. Use the Apple Calculator
in currency mode and you get A$2283.13. Actual price in the Australian
store is A$2499. Difference is A$215.87, or about 10%.

If you want an Apple item that is overpriced, compare recently reduced
AppleTV. US$229, A$449. Now that is overpriced.

Contrast that to say an iPod Touch. US$299, A$399 (conversion after tax
A$379.46)
