Ah.....how about pointing them towards you?  That's what most of the 
civilized world does......lol.  Unless you're eyeballs have no lateral 
movement, this should be no problem.  Its actually very good for your 
eyes to move rapidly horizontally.  Sort of mimics what life would be 
if we spent more time in that dangerous world outside.  In fact, many 
eye exercises use lateral movements to both relax and strengthen the 
eyes.  The worst thing is to have a fixed focal point for hours on 
end.
