Time Machine & Super Duper

by c__bennett@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (CB) Jun 14, 2008 at 04:09 PM

In Super Duper's instructions it instructs you to do the initial backup
with the Fire Vault open and to create a seperate user to use for backup.
Would not turning off Fire Vault (offline) for the backup get the same
result? After the initial backup, does Fire Vault still need to be off?
Not clear to me.

Time Machine's instructions make no mention of this or anything even
close.
Should Fire Vault be turned off during backup?

I'd rather use Time Machine as it is part of the OS!! The advantage of
Super Duper from what I've read is an ability to do a 'bootable' backup,
where as Time Machine needs the OX install dvd to do the same. ???????

Any specific or general thoughts on these applications welcome.

Regards..............
