I have a PC (Win2k Pro) and my wife, an iMac (Tiger).
On the PC I use "Microsoft Power Point Viewer" to play
..pps files.
I found that iMac's Keynote will play .pps files except
there is no sound. So installed Microsoft Office for Mac
(just Word & PowerPoint) but still no sound.
Installed OpenOffice on the PC (as a test) but found that in .pps
files that do not automatically advance, where you have to use
mouse or keyboard to advance, that once the sound ends, it is
not restarted.
When I try to install OpenOffice on the iMac I get this message
"OpenOffice.org for Mac OS X cannot be started because the X11
software is not installed. Please install Apple X11 first from the
Mac OS X install DVD. More information:
http://****ting.openoffice.org/mac/faq/installing/X11.html".
I've looked at these instructions but am a little wary about doing
the X11 install. What is X11?
Anyone have sound problems with .pps files on an iMac?
