Well, there's a free one; you can look on Versiontracker.
But this is really strange-sounding.
I wonder if it isn't something else.

Please keep posting; we'd like to know what happened and how this
happened.

Check something for us while you do:
is your firewall on?
System Prefs: Sharing: Firewall
are there any exceptions listed?

Can you check the Activity Monitor, and find any processes running that
you don't know about? You'll know a lot are Apple's. (There are likely
to be several that are UNIX code processes, just give us the names.)

Is your Safari 'block pop-up windows' setting still blocking?

Does this happen only when Safari is running?

Does it happen for specific sites?
