I want to burn some data CDs (containing AIFF audio and PDF files) and
they should be readable on just about any computer system out there
(Macs, PCs, Linux etc).
I believe I've named the files without any special characters, so that
should be pretty standard (I think), but what kind of format should I
burn the CDs with?
I've found this free CD-burning application called Liquid CD (http://
maconnect.ch/index.php?page=&lang=en) and for CD-R burning I can
choose between a variety of systems: ISO9660-1, ISO9660-2, RockRidge,
PC advanced (Joliet), HFS+, UDF, Mac and PC, Mac only....
What should I choose to make it cross-platform compatible?
As for the files themselves; PDF should be readable on anything, and
although WAV is the more common audio format for PCs I'm sure there
are players and converters available for AIFF as well -I'll ask in
some PC forums to be sure.
