NAV Virus Defs Workaround for Expired Subscription?

by Joe Blow <lovespam@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Feb 26, 2005 at 08:38 PM

Hey!
My virus def subscription ended, which really pisses me off. Why are

supposed to pay for the software again?
Anyway, I think I might have a workaround, but I wanted to run it by
ppl
that may be more knowledgeable than myself. What if one simply extracted
the
files from the virus definitions package that you can download from
Symantec's
site, and replaced the old one's on your machine? Would that do the
trick? Or
use Pacifist to install them instead of Installer? It's basically two
folders:
"Engine" and "Hub" Any thoughts?
And has anyone else found any other way to beat this subscription
rip-off?
For Mac, of course. Thanks!
