TextEdit isn't really supposed to be ready-for-prime-time. If you have
AppleWorks or OpenOffice or whatever else, and those programs work the
way you want them to, then use them. OO is free and updated all the
time. I haven't heard if it's updated for Tiger, but it probably is.
